Forest Hemp Soapsmith is a small shop on Grange Road in Nannup, where Simon and Marion make hemp oil soap, balms and skincare by hand. Natural ingredients, pure essential oils, and a piano by the door.

Handcrafted in the South West of Western Australia with all natural ingredients and pure essential oils. Everything on the shelf is made here in Nannup, in small batches, by the two people whose names are on the sign.
Forest Hemp has been going since 2017. The shop itself, the Nannup Soapbox, opened its doors in 2024.

Oval bars, stamped by hand
Cold pressed oval bars in a dozen colours, each one pressed with the Soapsmith monogram. Gypsy Love Spell is the castile bar, wrapped in its own printed sleeve and finished with a ribbon.

Moby, Grizzly and the Mountain Man
A whole bench for beards. Moby is bay rum, lime and cannabis, in oil and in balm. Grizzly is sandalwood and cannabis, as a beard soap on a rope. The Mountain Man Shaving System and the kits sit alongside them.

Daily Defence and the serum
The organic hemp oil moisturiser and the rose geranium and rosehip face serum are the two people come back for. Body butter comes in lemon myrtle, hemp oil and eucalyptus. Hand creams and lip balms round out the bench.

A range built for dreadlocks
Hemplocks is the hair care bench: a dreadlock shampoo, a tightening spray and a dreadlock balm scented with clove bud, lavender, lemon myrtle, mandarin, patchouli, rosemary and cannabis.

Bath salts and deodorant
Gypsy Love Spell bath salts, and the Bay Fresh hemp oil deodorant that comes on its own or boxed as a kit with a soap on a rope.
Simon and Marion
The shop with the piano in it
Forest Hemp is run by Simon and Marion out of a small shop on Grange Road. Marion registered the business in 2017 and the two of them have been making soap here ever since. In 2024 the shop took on its own name, the Nannup Soapbox, and the sign out the front sums the place up in three words: suds, love, songs.
The songs part is not decoration. There is a piano inside, and visitors keep writing about walking in for soap and staying because Simon started playing. Marion is an artist and author as well, and has hung her own exhibition on the shop walls.
